A Yorkshire House Builder has opened the show home to its latest development in the exceptional countryside of Yorkshire’s Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Loxley Holdings celebrate the successful launch weekend of its Village Mews development in Darley, after an abundance of house hunters visited the development near Harrogate. This development is likely to be the last built for a number of years in this exceptional AONB, which combines moorlands, woodland and river valleys with peaceful pastoral scenes and tranquil expanses of water, and boasts a rich array of wildlife.
Tamara Hill, marketing manager from Loxley Holdings, said, “We were very pleased with the Village Mews show home launch. It’s a beautifully unique development that matches the views of the Nidderdale countryside. Eight properties have already been sold, and we are urging people to come have a look sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.”
The stunning show home is a four-bedroom, detached property with garage and views facing the Nidderdale countryside. It is the only plot sat on the Main Street with its own private drive, set apart from the rest of the development.
The development is set in the beautiful parish of Darley and Menwith, with two village greens, two churches, three community halls, a combined village store/post office and The Wellington Inn serving locally-sourced food and ales. The development is opposite the bus stop, with hourly journeys from Harrogate Bus Company (route 24) between Harrogate and Pateley Bridge .The Darley Community Primary school was recognised as ‘a small school with a special atmosphere’ in an inspection carried out by Ofsted this year.
The village has its own Darley in Bloom group which has been active for many years, winning several awards whilst keeping the village looking its best. Loxley Holdings intend to plant an abundance of flowers in their development in the coming months and have donated to the Darley in Bloom charity to support the local cause.
The Yorkshire-based house builder has taken every possible step to ensure that the development is in keeping with the natural beauty and traditional features of the area, from reconditioning the original dry-stone walls to retaining the views overlooking the village greens. “Due to its beautiful setting and sensitive location, we wanted to ensure our homes respected the best of North Yorkshire heritage, which has resulted in a high-quality, bespoke development unlike anything seen in the surrounding areas.” Explains Peter Tomkins, Loxley Holdings design manager.
All seven designs of the Village Mews properties have been built using the highest quality stonework in the traditional Darley village style. The kitchen floors and bathrooms are tiled with high quality Porcelanosa tiles, while the kitchens have been designed and fitted by Arcade Kitchens, Ilkley.
Each unique house type is highly efficient, with plastic-free, wool-based insulation in the walls and floors with an energy efficient rating of A/B. The homes all feature a decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (d-MEV) system, a low energy system which draws moisture laden air out of wet rooms to provide a quieter and more efficient system.
The development is offering two to four bedroomed homes, in both semi-detached and detached styles, starting from £265,000 – with help to buy scheme options for growing families, those looking to retire or for the perfect holiday home purchase.
Upon its completion, the show home has impressed the local villagers who have praised it as ‘a compliment to the village!’
